As the end of the current lockdown approaches, we are preparing to run more in-person demonstrations and welcome our customers back to our offices. As some of our social media followers will know we have developed a new reception area, and we haven’t stopped there. The revamp of our textile area has begun with the installation of an Adkins Industrial Flatbed Series 5 press.
Throughout the last year, the textile industry has continued to flourish. We have noticed an increase in sales of dye-sublimation machines, from Epson’s recently released A4 SureColour SC-F100 and continuing throughout the SC-F range. Responding to this interest in dye-sublimation YPS have decided to refurb their textile demonstration machines.
We already have an Epson SureColor SC-F6300 dye-sublimation printer installed and recently added an Adkins Series 5 Flatbed Heat Press. Our Adkins machine was installed in our Newcastle-based Creative Centre just two weeks ago and we’ve been putting it to good use in the short time we’ve had it.
Together with our Epson SureColour SC-F6300 and our Adkins Series 5 heat press we have been able to create some vibrant and impressive prints on our range of textiles from Premier Textiles. From wool inspired polyester to satin and velvet, our textile demonstration area will be dressed with a range of textiles that can be used with dye sublimation.
The Adkins Series 5 Alpha Industrial Flatbed Heat Press features a 1m x1.2m bed this is the largest model in the Alpha Industrial Flatbed range. The impressive machine may look intimidating however it features the same control panel and screen as Adkins’ smaller presses, making the Series 5 user friendly and easy to use. In addition to the simple controls, the machine has the added compressor-supported feature, giving you more control over the pressure of the heat plate.
The Adkins flatbed features a sliding lower table from which the heat plate presses and lifts, leaving less space for the transfer paper to move after pressing, this will keep ghosting to a minimum. Although we are using the Series 5 mainly for fashion textile demonstrations it is also suited for printing flags, upholstery and hard signage applications.
Over the coming months, we will be making good use of the Series 5 and dressing the textile area with fabrics from Premier Textiles, printed with our Epson SureColor SC-F6300 and finally, press with our Adkins Series 5 Alpha Industrial Flatbed Heat Press.
