As we come to the end of 2021, we reflect on the year as a business in the print industry. 2021 has been Your Print Specialists (YPS) best year since we began trading in 2009, this is a result of our hattrick of Mimaki JFX’s, digital consumable boom and consistent machine sales throughout the year.
January 2021 saw the launch of the Epson SureColor SC-F100. The brands A4 dye-sublimation solution is perfect for small and up and coming businesses to get their foot in the door of the dye-sublimation personalisation market. YPS were the first in the country to have our SC-F100’s land with us and we were delivering them to our pre-order customers the same day.
February 2021 saw the launch of RolandDG’s new print & cut machine, the RolandDG Versa UV LEC2 330/640. These machines are compatible with Roland's new Eco UV inks, EUV5, and Versaworks, the brand's RIP software. YPS is proud to offer the solvent range of Roland printers and cutters to our customers.
In March 2021 YPS were working on our new reception area, preparing our new customer-facing entrance for our Administrative Assistant, Megan.
March also saw the start of Megan’s career at YPS, if you often make consumable orders with us over the phone, you will be familiar with Megan by now.
April 2021 was the month for big changes at YPS, in regards to our management team. Towards the end of April, we introduced our new Managing Director, Georgia Brown. Previously to this Georgia was our Sales Manager and this change was a natural progression for the company. Our prior Managing Director, Garry Brown, has taken a step down from the day-to-day running of the business and is now directing the new management team.
During May 2021 YPS injected some colour into their new textile area and installed an Epson SureColor SC-F6300 & Adkins Series 5 heat press. The introduction of a large format dye-sublimation printer to our demo room was a no-brainer as 2020 and 2021 have been the years of the dye-sublimation boom.
June 2021 saw the installation of our demonstration Roland TrueVIS VG2 540 featuring green and orange ink. Since installing the machine we have created impressive brand colours with the green ink and impressed our customers with the running colour gamut.
As dye sublimation continued to rocket and our Epson SureColour SC-F100 & F500’s were selling out, in June 2021 we published our Top 10 Dye Sub Tips.
This blog post details the Epson drivers needed to use each of the F100’s & F500’s, tips and tricks and heat pressing pointers. Since June, when we have encountered a customer that is new to dye sublimation, we have been able to send them this blog post and help them with the basics of dye sublimation.
July 2021 saw the arrival of our demonstration Mimaki 3042 MKII. Installed by our in-house service team, our Mimaki flatbed is core to our demonstration equipment and is available for demos now!
To book a demo on our flatbed Mimaki email us info@yourprintspecialists.co.uk.
August 2021 saw the introduction of Craig, who is the latest member of our YPS dedicated service team. With the addition of Craig we are growing our service team to keep up with the consistent machine installations sold by our sales team.
September 2021 saw our hattrick of Mimaki JFX installs.
The first JFX of August was installed by our service engineers Charlie and Paul who had it up and running in no time for our customer who was converting from screen printing to digital. Two more followed, allowing both customers to expand their product offering and add additional revenue streams to their portfolio.
In October the YPS team headed to Amsterdam for FESPA 2021.
After so many machine announcements throughout 2021 FESPA was a welcome experience to see the new machines and match up with connections face to face after the national lockdowns and global pandemic.
November 2021, alike October, saw the return of face-to-face events. We headed to the North East Expo to show how to bring small promotional printing in-house, with the Epson dye-sublimation range.
In early December we were awarded the Innovation Masterclass award at the IPIA Recognising Excellence Awards 2021 Gala in Stratford-upon-Avon. This award was for our Your Print Institute, which aims to close the skill gap in the print industry.
Thank you to the IPIA and everyone who voted for YPS for the Innovation Masterclass award.
